Texas Bluebonnet Ornament or Suncatcher
The Texas bluebonnet’s history includes its importance to Native Americans and Spanish missions, its adoption as tje state flower in 1901, its adoption as the state flower in 1901, its official species expansion in 1971, and late4r widespread planting by the Texas Highway Department. While initially designated as Lupinus subcarnosus, the state legislature later expanded the title to include other species, particularly the Lupinus texensis, which is most common in the state.
